Follow the tides knowing you’re protected
Whether you most want to sail the Whitsundays, the Great Sandy Strait, Port Stephens or Lake Macquarie, sailing can be a high-risk activity and things can go wrong in a split second. Without suitable insurance that will cover you while sailing, you may find yourself left on your own if you were to have an accident or experience a medical emergency while out at sea.
Instant payouts on approved claims with PassportCard
When you choose PassportCard, you’ll enjoy the extra peace of mind of knowing you’ll be able to cover most expenses there and then if something goes wrong.
When you purchase one of our travel insurance policies, we’ll ask you if you’d like a PassportCard to take with you on your trip. If something happens while you’re away (like your luggage is delayed, your cash is stolen or you experience a medical issue overseas), our team can handle your claim quickly over the phone 24/7 and transfer funds to your PassportCard on-the-spot.
If approved, you’ll be able to withdraw cash to cover expenses that can arise from things like delayed luggage or stolen cash, or if it’s a medical issue overseas, we can instantly add funds to your PassportCard so you can immediately pay for expenses when you need to.
You won’t need to fill out any paperwork and instant access to funds means you won’t be left out of pocket.

Don’t find yourself in deep water
- Whether you’re heading overseas to fish a bucket list location or sticking to waters a little closer to home, it’s important to know what your travel insurance will and will not cover before you set off.
- When you choose PassportCard, you’ll be pleased to know that we’ll automatically cover you while fishing provided you’re either fishing on land or staying within two nautical miles of land.
- If you plan to head a bit further out to enjoy some deep water fishing, don’t fret—we can still cover you provided you add the optional Adventure Activities Cover when you purchase your travel insurance policy.
- If you’ll be heading out to deeper waters, you may also want to add Search and Rescue Cover to your policy for peace of mind that you’ll have cover for expenses if you were to go missing and rescue or police authorities needed to instigate a search and rescue operation.

No. Many Australians don’t realise that they won’t be covered by Medicare in most overseas locations. Purchasing travel insurance with cover for medical emergencies and evacuation is essential to ensure you won’t be left to foot the bill if you become seriously sick or injured while travelling.
