Cruise Travel Insurance

A cruise can be one of those experiences that stays with you for a lifetime. Whether you’re sailing the Pacific islands, cruising the Caribbean or embarking on a voyage of Australia’s tropical north coast, a cruise can offer that elusive ideal balance between relaxation and exploration.

In a perfect world, your cruise would sail seamlessly without any issues. However, the possibility that something could go wrong is always in the back of your mind. Travel insurance is a great way to alleviate those niggling concerns, providing valuable reassurance that you’ll be prepared if something unexpected does happen.

Cruise travel insurance FAQs

No, cruise cover is an optional extra. If you’ll be going on a cruise, it’s important to add the Cover While Cruising option when completing your quote to ensure it is included with your policy.

It’s essential that you add Cover While Cruising with your travel insurance if you’ll be heading on a cruise. While our travel insurance includes cover for a wide range of events, it won’t cover you while on a cruise if you don’t add the optional extra cover.

Even if you’re cruising domestically, it’s still important to have cruise-specific travel insurance for medical emergencies, as you may not be able to claim on Medicare or your private health insurance while on board. Travel insurance can also come in handy in a range of other situations while cruising like if your luggage is lost, cabin confinement or shore excursion cancellation.

You’ll need to list all travellers (including any dependents) that you want to be included on your policy when completing your quote to ensure they are covered while on our cruise.
