Medical cover that won’t leave you out of pocket

Not only can a medical issue while travelling be extremely stressful, but it can also be very expensive if you don’t have suitable medical cover.

When you choose PassportCard, you can travel with the confidence of knowing you’ll be protected in a medical emergency, with the added advantage of round-the-clock support from our Global Assistance team.

If you experience a medical issue during your trip and aren’t sure what to do, our Global Assistance team will be available to help at any time, day or night, ready to direct you to the nearest pharmacy, hospital or doctor. They’ll even make sure you won’t have to front up the money to cover your immediate medical expenses for approved claims by instantly transferring funds to your PassportCard so you can make payment there and then.

Travelling with a pre-existing medical condition

It’s not uncommon for mature travellers to experience some health challenges from time to time, but we don’t believe that should mean your travel plans have to be put on ice.

When you choose PassportCard, we will automatically cover a long list of pre-existing medical conditions without the need to undertake a health assessment (provided you meet all relevant criteria).

If you have a pre-existing medical condition you may need to undertake a health assessment to ensure you are safe to travel with the appropriate cover.

Travellers aged 85 years or older will also need to provide written confirmation from their registered medical practitioner confirming they are medically fit to undertake the journey.

If you have a pre-existing medical condition or are over 85, and are unsure if you would be covered by our travel insurance, please contact our customer service team by calling 1300 123 413 for more information tailored to your personal circumstances.
