- Breathing observation bubble diving (maximum depth thirty (30) metres)
- Canoeing/Kayaking/Rafting (grades 4–5, if with a professional guide or tour)
- Cascading
- Deep sea fishing (more than two (2) nautical miles off a land mass)
- Dragon boating
- Hydrospeeding
- Jet skiing
- Kitesurfing
- Windsurfing
- Paragliding/Parascending/Parasailing (over water)
- Sailing/Yachting/Motor Cruising (outside territorial limits, on a professional charter)
- Scuba Diving (limited to 30m with a qualified instructor for unqualified divers)
- Scuba diving (limited to qualified divers up to a maximum depth of 50 metres, not diving alone)
- Swimming races, more than ten (10km) and up to a distance of twenty five (25) km
- Wakeboarding
- Water Skiing
Water Sports Cover doesn’t include professional competitions, stunts, or activities where safety rules or equipment aren’t followed. It also excludes yachting outside territorial waters. Cover is not available for medical, hospital, ambulance and dental costs incurred in Australia or in Australian waters.
Adventure Activities Cover
We provide cover for a wide range of activities including paragliding, trekking up to 6000m, Everest Base Camp and Kokoda Track, rock climbing outdoors (not mountaineering), sky diving, animal conservation and handling, abseiling, hang gliding. Find out more

Water Sports insurance FAQs
It’s essential that you add Water Sports Cover with your travel insurance if you’ll be going diving. While our travel insurance includes cover for a wide range of events, it won’t cover you while diving if you don’t add the optional extra cover.
Yes. Provided they meet the criteria specified in the PDS for dependants and you list them as travellers when you purchase your policy, they will be covered under your policy. Find out more about our family travel insurance
