This optional benefit gives you extra protection if you decide not to go ahead with your trip – even if nothing “goes wrong.” 

 

If you cancel before you travel, you can claim back up to 75% of your non-refundable travel and accommodation costs, up to your selected cancellation limit. 

 

It’s cover for the “what if I just don’t want to go anymore?” moments.

How Cancellation Due to Change of Mind Cover works

What you’re covered for

With this cover, you can cancel your trip for reasons like: 

  • A simple change of mind  
  • Leave not approved 
  • A change in your work situation  
  • Unexpected expenses that impact your trip 

How it works

If you meet the eligibility criteria and cancel your trip before departure: 

  • We’ll pay 75% of your non-refundable costs 
  • Up to your selected cancellation limit or the maximum benefit payable of $20,000 (whichever is lower) 

 

To be eligible for this cover

  • You need to purchase it at least 7 days before your trip starts  
  • Paid for your travel, accommodation, tours, or cruise at least 48 hours before the Policy issue date up to, but not including, the trip start date.
  • You must cancel your trip at least 48 hours before departure  
  • You’ll need to try to recover any refunds from your travel providers first 
  • Your trip is not cancelled by travel providers, or affected by Do Not Travel warnings, war, pandemics or other known events.

No cash, no holiday! Call us and we can put $350 (or up to $700 for 2 adults) on the PassportCard for you to withdraw from the ATM.

Yes, if you change your mind this cover is designed for exactly that. Whether you can’t get leave approved, or something unexpected comes up, you can cancel your trip and claim (as long as you meet the eligibility criteria and it’s not an excluded reason). 

You can claim 75% of your non-refundable travel and accommodation costs up to your selected cancellation limit or maximum benefit payable of $20,000, whichever is lower. 

You’ll need to add it at least 7 days before your trip starts, and your travel must be paid within 48 hours before or after purchasing your policy.

Yes you’ll need to make reasonable efforts to recover any refunds or credits from your travel providers before making a claim.
