What can our over 70s travel insurance cover?

Medical cover isn’t the only reason you need travel insurance while travelling. Travel insurance can also provide valuable protection in a range of other scenarios that can happen while you’re away. Here are just some of the other ways having travel insurance could come in handy:

Trip cancellation

In case you need to cancel your trip unexpectedly

Lost or delayed luggage

Cash to cover costs if your bags are lost or does not arrive on time

Travel delays

If you need to pay for accommodation because of a travel delay

Dental Emergencies

If you need immediate treatment while you are travelling

Theft of cash

So you’re not left high and dry if your money is stolen

Other medical emergencies

If you need to see a doctor, are transported by ambulance or admitted to hospital

Please refer to the relevant PDS before purchasing our travel insurance to understand what is, and is not, covered by the policy to ensure it is the right cover for you.

Know you’re covered in a medical emergency

If you become sick or injured while overseas, medical expenses can skyrocket within the blink of an eye.

For many of us, having to shell out for an unexpected medical emergency simply isn’t feasible, and when you’re already feeling unwell, the last thing you want is to be worrying about how you’ll pay for it all.
When you choose PassportCard, not only will you be covered in a medical emergency, but you’ll also have the added reassurance of 24/7 support from our Global Assistance team and instant access to funds to pay for medical expenses there and then. We’ll cover the costs, while you focus on getting better.

Cover for pre-existing medical conditions

Many of us will encounter various health issues throughout our lives, but a health issue doesn’t necessarily mean you have to put a stop to your travel dreams.

If you have a pre-existing medical condition you may need to undertake a health assessment to ensure you are safe to travel with the appropriate cover.

Travellers aged 85 years or older will also need to provide written confirmation from their registered medical practitioner confirming they are medically fit to undertake the journey.

If you have a pre-existing medical condition or are over 85,  and are unsure if you will be covered by our travel insurance, please contact our customer service team by calling 1300 123 413 for more information tailored to your personal circumstances.
