At PassportCard, we’re travellers first. We support people when things don’t go as planned, but we also live those moments ourselves.
Let’s hear it from Lauren Crosbie, our Medical Underwriter.
“I’m sharing my trip to Spain and Portugal, which didn’t go the way I expected.”
When Everything Changed
“Lisbon was meant to be another stop on the trip. Instead, I had a scooter accident that left me with a shattered clavicle and a dislocated shoulder.
Overnight, my trip turned into hospital visits, language barriers, and trying to figure out how to get home safely.
But what stayed with me isn’t the injury. It’s the people. A local guide stepped in to translate at the hospital, and people I had just met helped me get dressed, carry my bags, and navigate everything I couldn’t do on my own.
Because of them, I was still able to have moments of the trip before getting home to Sydney for surgery.”
Lauren’s story is a reminder of why travel insurance isn’t just a box to tick — it’s peace of mind that ensures when the unexpected happens, you’re not facing it alone.

The Flavours of Spain & Portugal

My Travel Tip
Be open to the unexpected.
The best memories often come from moments you didn’t plan.

One Thing I Never Travel Without
A portable power bank.
Your phone becomes everything when you’re abroad, maps, translation, staying connected, and you don’t want it running out of battery when you need it most.
From Plans to Something Else
This wasn’t the trip I planned.
But it’s the one I’ll never forget.
