How our Search & Rescue Cover works
If reports suggest you’re missing and authorities determine a search operation is necessary to prevent injury or sickness, we’ll pay reasonable costs charged by recognised rescue providers or police to bring you to safety ,up to the $120,000 limit. The trigger can be injury, sudden bad weather, or any situation where authorised services deem a search essential.

Search & Rescue Cover FAQ
Only if you’ve added optional Search & Rescue Cover to your Domestic or International Comprehensive policy. It’s designed to help cover the cost of recognised rescue services if you’re reported missing and need to be brought to safety.
Yes. Search & Rescue is not automatically included , you’ll need to add it when purchasing your Comprehensive policy or before you start your trip.
You’ll be covered for up to $120,000 per event to help pay for reasonable costs charged by police or recognised rescue providers.
Cover applies if you go missing and authorities confirm a search is needed due to injury, sickness, or dangerous conditions like severe weather.
Yes. You won’t be covered if you go missing due to things like war, rebellion, criminal activity, or if you’ve been kidnapped or detained.
No. Medical evacuation is part of your base Comprehensive policy. Search & Rescue Cover only applies to costs for locating and rescuing you.
You can select this option when buying a new Comprehensive policy.
Yes. The standard excess listed on your Schedule applies to any Search & Rescue claim.
